(Origin: Yiddish (ie:European Jewish)) 1. A lawyer with tenuous morals 2. A dishonest person- usually a man.
I'm going to see Eddie Hymowitz about my drunk driving case. He's a total sheister- but at least he's on my side.

A politician with exceptionally questionable tactics, but still claims to be a good guy when it comes time for re election.
Mike Carroll, Pennsylvania Legislator, is a real sheister. He says one thing and then when its time for re-election he expects us to like him again

Ok folks, its shYster. (and not slang)
1. a lawyer who uses unprofessional or questionable methods.
2. a person who gets along by petty, sharp practices.
Calling someone a shyster (not Sheister) might be considered libellous; knowing its probable origin adds insult to injury.
