(v) getting wild or excessively crazy. Typically used in the context of a party.

It is normally followed by a prepositional phrase (For the party, In that place, On that hoe) and it is often used in the past tense (turned up). "Turning up" is almost never said.

As far as I can tell, it is the 2011 equivalent of what Getting Crunk was in the early 2k's and late 90's.
We turned up in Mr. Mitchell's class when he had a sub last week.

I turn up every weekend.

Top Definition

1) Getting loose, being wild and potentially engaging in sexual activity with members of the opposite gender (or the same gender if thats what you're in to)
2) Acting crazy due to consumption of large amounts of alcohol, marijuana, molly or other drugs
It can be used as a noun where it is spelled "turnt up" instead of "turned up" as grammatical conventions would suggest. Turnt up is used to described the state of being wild and crazy like someone would be at a party.

It is not to be confused with the vegetable, the turnip, to which it shares some phonic similarities but is otherwise entirely unrelated
We're gonna turn up tonight at John's party.

Dude 1:Mary's party last night was turnt up.
Dude 2: I know. I had like 7 drinks, hooked up with 2 chicks and was going HAM on the dance floor. I was all the way turnt up.

ok some people really are just stupid.

Turn up means to get intoxicated to the point that you're so loose that you just act crazy.

If you went out and had a few drinks and laughed all night....you simply got drunk. You did not turn up lol Then again the phrase got so big that it's being used for almost everything now which is fine. It's another phrase that'll soon die out like the rest of them. Lol

I personally need to turn down lol
